# Query Travel Trends — European tourism & disruption data

Decision-support platform for European tourism and travel disruption: EU-27
tourism panels built on Eurostat data (2015 to present), INSSE Romania county
data, and a live disruption radar aggregating official sources (NOTAMs, rail
operators, strikes, weather, civil-protection alerts). No API key, no
registration — see `/auth.md`.

## Option 1 — MCP server (preferred for agents)

Streamable HTTP endpoint: `https://travel-trends.mmatinca.eu/mcp/v1` (POST,
no auth, rate limit 60 requests/min per IP). Registry name:
`eu.mmatinca/travel-trends-mcp`. Manifest: `/.well-known/mcp.json`.

## Option 3 — read-only JSON API

- `briefing.json` — daily European disruption briefing, with explicit caveats
- `events.json` — current disruption events (id, domain, severity, countries, source URL)
- `status.json` — per-source freshness and pipeline health
- `sources.json` — the monitored official sources
- `track-record.json` — logged predictions vs. outcomes

## In-browser (WebMCP)

Pages register `travel_*` tools via `navigator.modelContext` (Chrome origin
trial) reading the same public JSON — useful when you are already browsing the
site with an agent-capable browser.

## Data honesty

Quiet days are reported as quiet; every event links to its official source;
`status.json` discloses unavailable sources instead of hiding them. Markdown
content negotiation: send `Accept: text/markdown` to any page URL.
